Professional MEng degree program

Photo showing Professors Bhargava, Sutton, and Boppart.The Department of Bioengineering offers a one-year, non-thesis, professional Master's in Engineering (M.Eng.) in Bioengineering degree.  The program integrates engineering and business courses and is geared toward those looking to work in industry or move forward in their industry careers. Graduates are equipped with hard-core technical skills and big-picture business perspective – trained to find creative solutions to complex, multi-level systems problems.

Available both on-campus as well as online, the M.Eng. in Bioengineering degree is offered through the world-renowned College of Engineering at Illinois and includes a choice of one of three transcriptable concentrations:  bioinstrumentation (with special focus on medical imaging devices), computational genomics (with focus on bioinformatics, genomic computational modeling and big data wrangling), and general bioengineering. The online program offers flexibility to allow professionals to remain in their jobs while working on a master's degree.
