SUMMARY OF ENGINEERING RESEARCH
Over 50 outstanding faculty from six colleges at UIUC conduct interdisciplinary bioengineering research covering a wide
range of topics. A wide variety of state-of-the-art research facilities are available
in each of these colleges. In addition, the Beckman Institute, the Biotechnology
Center, the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, and a number of NSF-
and NIH-funded centers on campus provide valuable support for bioengineering research.
The University of Illinois along with the Department of Bioengineering has a number of graduate fellowships and training opportunities available such as the Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) and the Midwest Cancer Nanotechnology Training Center (M-CNTC).
